“Romance and Roses" will set the stage for a memorable prom night at The River Mill in French Camp on Saturday, April 27.

Here is a flurry of important dates and details to mark on your calendar.

For attendees, the journey begins with contract pickup at the Attendance Office at Manteca High School starting March 20. This marks the first step towards securing a spot at the event.

"Oh, I'm excited for prom. I'm just excited because it's my senior year and it's my last one. I'm just excited to get all dolled up, really. I love it!" senior Tatiana Orozco said.

Mark March 25 as the day to start buying bids in the Admin Office, with prices set at $85 with ASB and $90 without. It's crucial to have all fees and fines paid by March 28 to ensure eligibility.

Bid prices increase on April 2 to $90 with ASB and $95 without, so prompt action is encouraged to secure the best rate.

Guest contracts must be submitted to vice principals Debi Chavez or Frank Fontana by April 8 at 4 p.m., providing ample time to finalize arrangements.

Remember, all Saturday schools must be served by April 6 to avoid any last-minute hiccups.

April 10th marks the final day to pick up contracts in the Attendance Office, while April 11th is the last chance to purchase bids.

"The importance (of getting your) Saturday School and detention cleared is a way of taking responsibility to attend prom," said vice principal Frank Fontana.

The final count is due to The River Mill on April 12, ensuring everything is in order for the big night ahead.

Circle April 27 on your calendar – prom night from 6 to 11 p.m. But remember, there's a strict limit of 390 tickets to be sold, so don't delay in securing yours.

Prices are per person, so plan accordingly based on your ASB status.

For those opting for online ticket sales, additional information is essential when adding a guest. If your guest is an MHS student, include their name and ID number. For students from other schools, provide their name and school name.

If your guest is from outside the school system, include their name and age. Regardless of guest status, all pay the non-ASB price.

As the theme suggests – "Romance and Roses” – anticipate a night filled with elegance, charm, and perhaps a touch of whimsy.

The ambiance will be set with soft lighting, fragrant blooms, and romantic décor, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for you and your fellow attendees.

Junior class president Alejandra Valdovinos leads the prom committee at Manteca High. Her group was responsible for selecting the theme and location, picked the menu and decor, among other tasks.

In summary, mark your calendars, secure your bids, and prepare for a night of ‘Romance and Roses’ at the River Mill.

Valdovinos gave a special shoutout to junior class vice president Kaylee Oliviera, who has been instrumental in promotions and creating contacts.

“Prom this year is super different than the past two years,” Valdovinos said. “Even though the tickets are more expensive, we’re getting a full buffet, and the DJ isn’t associated with the high school. There will be two rooms, one strictly for eating and the other a dance room. ... Outside the venue, there’s a bunch of greenery and flowers will be in bloom. You don’t have to go anywhere for pictures; you can take them right there.”
