Sound Off: What are your big plans for summer break?

Over the summer break, I'm really excited to dive into some thrilling adventures! My plan is to go to amusement parks and water parks, soaking in every ounce of excitement they have to offer. There's something about the rush of adrenaline on roller coasters and the refreshing splashes at water parks that makes summer feel complete. But it's not just about the rides and slides; it's also about the people I share these experiences with. Spending quality time with my boyfriend and family is a top priority. Being a sophomore in high school, I know how valuable summer break is. It's a chance to recharge, create unforgettable memories, and prepare for the year ahead. I want to make every day count, soaking up the sun, enjoying every day to every hour, and cherishing the time spent with those who mean the most to me. Summer is more than just a break from school; it's an opportunity to make lifelong memories and savor every moment of fun and connection. Not to mention I only have two left until I go to college and get a job.

My main event that is taking place for summer break is getting through my driver student phase and getting into driving so I can hopefully make my way into getting a job to start to learn about being in the work force. When it comes to vacation type stuff it is most likely going to include a lot of staying up late, sleeping in, fishing, camping, water, and a whole ton of stimming for mental ailments. It is also going to be my 16th birthday, but I am not sure what that will entail.

Over summer break I have no idea what I am going to do. My mom bought me a season pass to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, so I will most likely be going there a lot. I would like to go to the beach a lot. I also want to get my license and fix up my car so I can get to driving. I should not be as reckless as last summer because I fractured my elbow and I have a scar on my hip from it. Other than that, I plan to have fun with my friends and girlfriend. I also want to get some new clothes and enjoy my time and not rush things because I have two months to do whatever I want.

My plans for summer break are to start working and start saving up money for items that I want or need. I would get my driver’s license and start to save up for a car. I want to spend more time with my family in San Jose. I want my brothers to have a good time because I have a driver’s license. I want to drive from San Jose to Manteca after playing a game of soccer with the whole family and getting something to eat and just drive while listening to my music and seeing my dad, sister, and brother sleeping. Have fun.

My plans for summer don’t involve a “break.” My summer will consist of work, online school at Modesto Junior College, and training for track and field. Although it’s only three things, all of them in one day, nearly every day of the week eventually becomes very strenuous. The jobs I will be doing are lifeguard management and local landscaping, so that will take up most of my afternoon and weekend time. School and training are in the morning, so it might be a challenge. But I am prepared for any obstacle that comes my way, as I feel that being an athletic trainer is what I want to pursue in life. My counselor told me that this will be a very hard path but in the end, it will lead to many job opportunities and lots of money, which is what I am hoping for in the future. Whatever is in hold for my future is in God’s hands.

During the first couple weeks of summer break, I want to relax at home and enjoy being on break. I would like to go to a waterpark or the lake in the middle of the summer. Since my birthday is the 21st of July, I would like to spend time with my family and plan on going to the Colorado Rockies-San Francisco Giants game on July 26. I have never been to a baseball game and think it will be a fun experience before summer break comes to an end.

My big plan for summer is to go out with my friends as much as possible. Before summer I want to create a huge bucket list of things I would with my friends. The very first week Manteca usually has a street fair downtown, I usually go every year to hang out with my friends all day and buy some cute things from small businesses. I also plan to work my first job over the summer since I turn 16 on the 12th of June. Hopefully I get hired by someone and can make some money. My money will most likely all go on new clothes or my friend’s gas since we will be out every day. For my birthday, I plan on going with my friends to Great America or Six Flags to ride the rollercoasters. Towards the end of summer, I’m planning on going with my best friend’s family on their annual camping trip. I’m excited for this trip since I always come back super tan or sunburnt.

My plans for summer will be fun. To start off summer, I cannot really do anything because football starts on the 3rd of June. But that week I am going to be outside. I'm trying to go to the water park as many times as I can this summer and hang out with the boys every week, because there is nothing better than chilling with the boys and making memories all summer long. What I am really excited for this summer is the camping trips with family and friends because those are always fun, and we always make great memories and have a lot of fun. Plus, I will have my license so I will be able to drive and go to fairs with friends and do all that fun stuff. So, my summer is going to be a blast.
