Rebecca Navarro, Student Reporter

The top 3 holiday movies of all time in order from best to greatest are: The Nightmare Before Christmas, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, and Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snowed in at the House of Mouse. All three of these are considered classics and they are a must-watch every year for me. I think the first two both have a unique style of animation to them and ignite a warm funny feeling. Watching them I wish to be able to walk into the cute village Jack visits, Christmas town with all the fun festivities and a colorful light, a world filled with never-ending glee. In Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, I want to join the elves and work alongside them in their cute workshops and tend to the reindeers. Finally, Mickey’s House of Mouse in the Christmas edition is my all-time favorite. It compiles the cutest short stories and the best remake of Charles Dicken’s The Christmas Carol. Putting this Christmas story with our beloved characters and introducing some dark themes that open eyes and help one to understand the true meaning of the holidays.

Everyone loves the holidays! But there are not a lot of movies that represent the holidays as well as these three movies in no particular order. Home Alone, Elf, and Rise of the Guardians. I believe these three movies fully encompass the holiday spirit. Home Alone fully realizes the spirit of Christmas and the feeling of being alone but full of holiday joy. Home Alone takes the No. 3 spot. Rise of the Guardians is technically a holiday movie because of Santa Claus, and like Die Hard, the movie shows how action packed and sick (in a good way!) and awesome Christmas can be. It takes the No. 2 spot. Finally, Elf takes the crown as the best holiday movie of all time. It's fun, it’s silly, it’s campy, and most importantly, it shows some real Christmas spirit.

My top 3 holiday movies are Polar Express, The Grinch, and Home Alone. The Polar Express would probably be nostalgic to some or maybe most. The story takes us on a magical train ride to the North Pole, where the spirit of Christmas and belief in Santa are at the core of the movie. The Grinch is an especially good movie because it’s just a story about someone who's mad and hates the holiday it's about redemption, love, and the true meaning of Christmas. The all-time greatest Christmas movie is Home Alone. Home Alone is a movie that perfectly blends slapstick humor, heartwarming family moments, and iconic scenes. The name of the movie can give anyone nostalgia just hearing its name.

My favorite Christmas movie is Home Alone. It is the most nostalgic movie, and I enjoy every minute of it. The second-best holiday movie is A Christmas Story, it's an absolute classic and is necessary for the Christmas season. The third-best Christmas movie is Wonderful Life. It is an amazing movie with a heartwarming message. The movie is well produced and would be higher but isn't as Christmas focused as the rest. After watching its a wonderful life, I bet you will view life differently.

My top three favorite Christmas movies are Santa Clause, The Rise of the Guardians, and The Grinch animated (2018). I love Santa Clause because it makes me feel like a kid starting to lose the belief of Santa Claus but regaining my love for Santa, top movie on my list. The Rise of the Guardians was my gay awakening with me having a crush on Jack Frost when I was younger, being the second movie on my list. The Grinch was done well as an animated movie with fun colors, and it felt alive, it made me feel like a little kid, this is my third movie on my list.

My top 3 Christmas movies are 3) The Grinch, 2) The Nightmare Before Christmas, 1) Home Alone. The Grinch is at three because it is a classic and is memorable. I think that it teaches a good lesson too. It shows that people can have a change of heart. The Grinch hated Christmas but he found the meaning in it after. The Nightmare Before Christmas at two because it has a good mix of Christmas and Halloween. It is also a classic. There is a good moral of the story. Home Alone is the best Christmas movie because it is fun and lighthearted. It also shows the values of family. Family is very important to me. There is also no Santa, so it is more realistic.

My top 3 charismas movies are Home Alone, Christmas Chronicles, and The Santa Clause. Home Alone is my No. 1 because it was one of the first Christmas movies I ever watched. I loved it because there was lots of action and it's a very funny and eventful movie. Christmas Chronicles is my No. 2 because I loved how it involved family and like showed us how the kid was on his own for a little bit because his family forget about him, and he was like protecting his home. The Santa Clause is No. 3 because I like how it involved family with a son that had strong beliefs in Christmas magic and his dad turns out to me Santa.

My favorite Christmas movie is probably Gremlins. It a cute, silly, and hectic film with a adorable creatures in the snowy town of Kingston Falls. It’s fun and always entertaining. My second movie would probably be Krampus; it shows a different twist to Santa Claus. My third movie is definitely Nightmare Before Christmas, because of the stop motion and characters are fun and creepy. The songs are so fun to listen to and have the perfect amount of Christmas and Halloween. Overall, I love all these movies and love cuddling up with a blanket to watch them.

When it comes to holiday movies, nothing beats the classics! Rising above the other movies at number one is “It’s a Wonderful Life.” This film is the epitome of a nostalgic, sentimental Christmas classic. Not only is it humorous but it also delves into the harder aspects of life as the main character, George, learns to overcome his obstacles and appreciate the little things about life. At rank number two is “The Holiday.” It’s the perfect romcom but holiday themed which makes it twice as good. I remember sitting down with my mom last year and watching this movie and I couldn’t fathom that I had never watched it before. Last but not least at number three is the live action “The Grinch.” With Jim Carrey in a movie, how could you not expect it to be funny? This movie is both nostalgic and comedic, and any time I rewatch it, I feel like I’m reliving my early childhood days from when we’d watch it in elementary school.

My favorite Christmas of all time. movie would be The Nutcracker, it’s about a young girl that needs a magical, one-of-a-kind key to unlock a box that contains a priceless gift. My second would be A Christmas Carol, it’s about a man in his mid-30 who hates Christmas because of his past, and must go through his be past, present, and future in hope of transforming his bitterness. My third favorite would have to be A Boy Called Christmas; it’s about a normal boy named Nikolas who sets out on an adventure into the snowy north in search of his father.

Salvador Paniagua, Student Reporter

My top 3 holiday movies from least to best are Home Alone 1, Home Alone 2, and The Polar Express. I know these are really basic but they’re all classics. I really enjoy watching the Home Alone movies but only the first 2. Anything after the second one just doesn’t hit the same, especially if it’s not the original actor. There are like 7 Home Alone movies. When it’s Christmas time and you turn on the TV to watch a movie or to have something play in the background, Home Alone is definitely one of the first that comes to mind and that’s what I love about it. Another movie that might come to mind is The Polar Express. The movie itself is very iconic but to me personally it just hits differently. For many years it’s kind of been a family tradition to watch The Polar Express every time it gets near the holidays.

Surprise! The holidays are coming up and I’m here to talk about my top 3 favorite holiday movies of all time:

#1. Home Alone. Home Alone is a movie of a kid being left on Christmas and burglars try and enter the “empty” house. Little did they know, the kid has some tricks up his sleeve to fend for his house. Although, it isn’t a good trap. It’s more pranks which really gets the crowd bursting into tears. The best parts of the movie are where they zoom into the character almost being hit by something because of the traps and is a hair away from meeting death itself.

#2. Halloween. Halloween is a great, suspenseful movie that really gives you chills. Gets you up and screaming at the characters to do something about the villainous murderer. The way Michael Myers appears everywhere and is hiding in every little corner just staring at you waiting for you to find him. Almost like Hide N’ Go Seek. And once you find him, you’re met with a knife deep in your stomach screaming for help.

#3. Elf. Elf is a great movie with one of the funniest actors known to man, Will Ferrell, acting as Santa’s “little helper”. He travels to New York and meets his biological father in a funny elf outfit and brings up the Christmas spirit there. A must watch every year and is a historical movie.
