Sneaker Geek: Alcocer owns hall with swaggy strut

Manteca High sophomore Isiah Alcocer casually walks toward the 40 wing. He embodies the cool breeze that blows through the long hallway.
With UGG boots, he steps softball past every locker and every wing. His outfit is meticulously stacked, each piece working with the other – UGG boots, brown Nike jacket, and True Religion jeans.
As he makes his way down the hall, people stop him to chat and a few girls wave, acknowledging his swaggy strut.
At Manteca High, Alcocer, who gets his fashion sense and much of his wardrobe from his older brother Julio Alcocer, is a big sneak geek.
"I like a good quality shoe,” he said, “especially for sports. Shoes can improve your skill in your sport by giving you better traction." Alcocer prefers to wear Nike cleats, because “they look and feel the best.”
When he is off the football field, Alcocer likes to wear the Jordan 4 Lightnings.
“They are my favorite shoe out there,” he said, “and they can just match a lot of my clothes I have.”
Alcocer was a standout player on the JV football team, playing offensive line and defensive end. The JV team finished the season 8-1. As he moves up to the varsity team, Alcocer has high expectations.
“Isiah was a big part of our defense,” JV coach Joseph Rohles said. “He was a crucial part of our offense of line. He sacrificed a lot because he played a position he shouldn’t have been playing. He is a true team player.”
Whether he’s walking the halls or chasing down the quarterback, Alcocer wants to stand out with his play and his sense of style.
